Петя Илиева има докторска степен с дисертация “Българското изкуство и фолклор като международни мостове и културна дипломация” и магистърска степен по живопис и естетика. Нейни изложби са показвани в редица галерии в България и в чужбина, на шест континента – например в Българския културен институт в Лондон, в българските посолства в Париж и Делхи, на различни места в САЩ (Ню Йорк, Вашингтон, Чикаго), във Виена, Брюксел, Прага, Братислава, Валенсия, в Япония, Ливан, Катар, Китай, Султанат Оман, Антарктида – остров Ливингстън. Петя Илиева е и реставратор на стенописи и автор на научни публикации в областта на културното наследство и изкуството. Тя е основател на ежегодния фестивал на културите на народите Art4Diplomacy и работи с всички чуждестранни дипломатически мисии в България.

Petia Ilieva deține un doctorat cu teza “Arta și folclorul bulgar ca punți internaționale și diplomație culturală” și un master în pictură și estetică. Expozițiile sale au fost prezentate în mai multe galerii din Bulgaria și din străinătate, pe șase continente – de exemplu, la Institutul Cultural Bulgar din Londra, la Ambasadele Bulgariei din Paris și Delhi, în diverse locuri din SUA (New York, Washington, Chicago), la Viena, Bruxelles, Praga, Bratislava, Valencia, în Japonia, Liban, Qatar, China, Sultanatul Oman, Antarctica – Insula Livingston. Petya Ilieva este, de asemenea, restaurator de fresce și autor de publicații științifice în domeniul patrimoniului cultural și al artei. Este fondatoarea unui festival anual al culturilor națiunilor numit Art4Diplomacy și colaborează cu toate misiunile diplomatice străine din Bulgaria.

Impressions from the visit to Iran of a Bulgarian visual artist who builds bridges through her art

Petya Ilieva holds a PhD with the dissertation “Bulgarian Art and Folklore as International Bridges and Cultural Diplomacy” and an MA in Painting and Aesthetics. Her exhibitions have been shown in a number of galleries in Bulgaria and abroad, on sixt continents – for example at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London, at the Bulgarian Embassies in Paris and Delhi, at various venues in USA (New York, Washington, Chicago), in Vienna, Brussels, Prague, Bratislava, Valencia, in Japan, Lebanon, Qatar, China,  Sultanate of Oman, Antarctica – Livingston Island. Petya Ilieva is also a restorer of frescoes and author of scientific publications in the field of cultural heritage and art. She is the founder of an annual festival of cultures of nations called Art4Diplomacy and works with all foreign diplomatic missions in Bulgaria.

Резюме

Тълпите са играли и продължават да играят много важна роля в иранската политика в критични моменти. В тази статия се разглежда ролята му в средата на ХХ век, особено по време на управлението на Реза Шах (1925-1941 г.) и на Мохамед Мосаддег (1951-1953 г.). В статията се прави преглед на европейската мисъл за масите, като се обръща специално внимание на идеите на родения в България нобелов лауреат Елиас Канети. Канети смята, че тълпата не винаги е ирационална, зла сила, а понякога играе исторически положителна роля: когато изисква и осъществява социална промяна. Точно това се случва по времето на Мосаддег. Погледът към тези времена е направен чрез откъси от иранския роман ,,Съседи” на Ахмад Махмуд, но също и чрез преглед на тогавашната преса и историческите трудове на Ерванд Абрахамян.

Rezumat

Mulțimea a jucat și continuă să joace un rol foarte important în politica iraniană în momente critice. Acest articol analizează rolul acesteia la mijlocul secolului al XX-lea, în special în timpul guvernării lui Reza Shah (1925-1941) și în mandatul lui Mohammad Mosaddegh (1951-1953). Articolul trece în revistă gândirea europeană despre mase, punând un accent deosebit pe ideile laureatului Nobel pentru literatură Elias Canetti, născut în Bulgaria. Canetti credea că mulțimea nu era întotdeauna o forță irațională, malefică, ci uneori juca un rol istoric pozitiv: atunci când cerea și promulga schimbări sociale. Este exact ceea ce s-a întâmplat în timpul lui Mosaddegh. O privire asupra acestor vremuri este făcută prin intermediul unor extrase din romanul iranian ,,Vecini’’ de Ahmad Mahmoud, dar și printr-o privire asupra presei din acea vreme și a scrierilor istorice ale lui Ervand Abrahamian.

Abstract

The crowd has played and continues to play a very important role in Iranian politics at critical moments . This article looks at its role in the mid 20th century, especially during the times of rule of Reza Shah (1925-1941) and Mohammad Mosaddegh (1951-1953). The article reviews European thought about the masses, with special emphasis on the ideas of Bulgaria-born Nobel Laureate in Literature Elias Canetti. Canetti believed that the crowd was not always irrational, evil forces, but sometimes played a positive historical role: when it demanded and enacted social change. It is exactly what happened during the times of Mosaddegh. A look at these times is made through excerpts from the Iranian novel Neighbors by Ahmad Mahmoud, through a look at the press of that time and Ervand Abrahamian’s historical writing.

In the autumn of 1977, a literary festival was held in Tehran that has gone down in history. The Ten Literary Evenings at the Goethe Institute had an audience of 20,000 people. They brought together the Iranian public with the most important dissident intellectuals of the monarchist period. The unrest that began during these literary evenings is considered the beginning of the series of protests that led to the Islamic Revolution.

During the literary festival, Iranian intellectuals talk about freedom, censorship, true and false art. Below is a speech by playwright Gholam-Hossein Sa’edi (translated by Vladimir Mitev with minor abridgements) about fake artists. Gholam-Hossein Sa’edi is a psychiatrist who cared for the mentally ill in southern Tehran. He is known for his plays influenced by the theatre of the absurd. He was repressed by the authorities both before and after the Revolution. He died in Paris in 1985.

În toamna anului 1977, la Teheran a avut loc un festival literar care a rămas în istorie. Cele Zece Seri Literare de la Institutul Goethe au avut un public de 20.000 de persoane. Acestea au reunit publicul iranian cu cei mai importanți intelectuali disidenți din perioada monarhistă. Tulburările care au început în timpul acestor serate literare sunt considerate începutul seriei de proteste care au dus la Revoluția Islamică.

În cadrul festivalului literar, intelectualii iranieni vorbesc despre libertate, cenzură, artă adevărată și falsă. Mai jos, vă prezentăm un discurs al dramaturgului Gholam-Hossein Sa’edi (în traducerea lui Vladimir Mitev cu mici scurtări) despre artiștii falși. Gholam-Hossein Sa’edi este un psihiatru care avea grijă de bolnavii mental în sudul Teheranului. Este cunoscut pentru piesele sale influențate de teatrul absurdului. A fost reprimat de autorități atât înainte, cât și după Revoluție. A murit la Paris în 1985.

През есента на 1977 г. в Техеран се провежда литературен фестивал, който остава в историята. Десетте литературни вечери в “Гьоте институт” имат публика от 20 000 души. Те срещат иранската публика с водещите интелектуалци дисиденти от монархическите времена. Броженията, които започват по време на тези литературни вечери са считани за начало на серията от протести, довели до Ислямската революция.

В рамките на литературния фестивал иранските интелектуалци говорят за свободата, цензурата, за истинското и фалшивото изкуство. По-долу представяме речта на драматурга Голам-Хосейн Саеди (в превод на Владимир Митев с малки съкращения), посветена на фалшивите творци. Голам-Хосейн Саеди е психиатър, който се грижи за психично болни в южната част на Техеран. Той е известен със своите пиеси, базирани на театъра на абсурда. Бил е репресиран от властите, както преди, така и след Революцията. Умира в Париж през 1985 г.

Angel Orbetsov: I fully agree with the last remark. And, yes, I had the honor of participating in a video promoting the Diplomatic Institute’s library with two other people and I am extremely proud of my participation. The library has taken a very serious step towards professionalization. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Diplomatic Institute, especially to Mrs Mihailova and her colleagues, especially Daniela Peșeva and Nikolai Krumov. Thank you very much for organising this event.

This event is very important because it is part of the 125th anniversary of the establishment of Bulgarian-Iranian diplomatic relations, which is part of my research and is described in the first chapter of the book. Today, 1897 is accepted as the year of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Iran.
